PRIVACY POLICY

Modern Plastic Surgery · Effective Date: October 27, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Modern Plastic Surgery ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information through our website, www.modernplasticsurgeryla.com, and related online communications. Medical information we create or receive as your healthcare provider is protected health information under HIPAA and is governed by our separate Notice of Privacy Practices. If this Policy and that Notice differ about your health information, the Notice controls.

Information we collect

Information you give us. When you complete a contact or consultation form, call, email, text, or use our video message tool, we collect what you provide, such as your name, email address, phone number, the procedures you are interested in, and any message, photo, or video you choose to send.

Information collected automatically. When you visit our website, we and our service providers collect technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, the page that referred you, and the date and time of your visit. We collect this through cookies and similar technologies, described in our Cookie Policy.

Information from others. We may receive information from financing partners (such as Cherry) when you apply for patient financing, and from review sites or social media platforms when you interact with us there.

How we use information

  • To respond to your inquiries and schedule consultations

  • To provide care, when you become a patient (governed by our Notice of Privacy Practices)

  • To send appointment reminders, care instructions, and other messages you request

  • To send promotional messages, only if you opt in

  • To operate, secure, and improve our website

  • To measure and improve our advertising, only if you accept marketing cookies

  • To comply with law and protect our rights

Cookies, advertising, and the Meta Pixel

Our website uses the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure and improve our advertising on Facebook and Instagram. The Meta Pixel loads only if you accept marketing cookies in our cookie banner. If you accept, Meta receives information such as the pages you visit on our site, which may include pages about specific procedures, along with identifiers Meta associates with your browser. Meta uses this information under its own privacy policy. You can change your choice at any time through the "Cookie Preferences" button at the bottom of every page.

We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals as a request to opt out of marketing cookies and of the sale or sharing of your personal information.

Do Not Track. Some browsers send "Do Not Track" signals. Because there is no common standard for these signals, our website does not respond to them; we do honor GPC as described above.

How we share information

We share information only as described here:

  • Service providers that help us run our website and practice, such as website hosting (Squarespace), video messaging (VideoAsk), maps (Google), spam protection (Google reCAPTCHA), patient financing (Cherry), and communications vendors. They may use the information only to provide services to us.

  • Advertising partners, limited to the Meta Pixel and only if you accept marketing cookies.

  • Legal and safety, when required by law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our patients, staff, or others.

  • Business transfers, if our practice is sold or merged, subject to this Policy.

We do not sell your personal information for money. Under California law, allowing the Meta Pixel to collect data for advertising may be considered "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can opt out at any time on our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page or through Cookie Preferences.

Text messaging (SMS)

If you provide your phone number and opt in, you may receive appointment reminders, pre- and post-care instructions, administrative and billing notices, and, only if you separately opt in, promotional messages. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. See our Terms & Conditions for full program terms.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

Your choices and rights

  • Cookies: accept or decline marketing cookies through Cookie Preferences, or block cookies in your browser.

  • Marketing messages: reply STOP to texts or use the unsubscribe link in emails.

  • Access, correction, and deletion: you may ask what personal information we hold about you through our website and ask us to correct or delete it, subject to legal exceptions, including medical record retention requirements.

  • Opt out of sale or sharing: use our Do Not Sell or Share page or a GPC signal.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.

California residents. California law, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (where it applies) and California Civil Code § 1798.83 ("Shine the Light"), may give you additional rights. Medical information is protected under the California Confidentiality of Medical Information Act and HIPAA and is handled under our Notice of Privacy Practices.

To make a request, email info@modernplasticsurgeryla.com with the subject "Privacy Request" or call (818) 823-0655.

Data security and retention

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls. No website or transmission is completely secure. We keep website and inquiry information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law. Please do not send detailed medical information through our general contact form or by regular email; we will provide a secure way to share it.

Children

Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them online. Care for minors is arranged by a parent or guardian.

Links to other sites

Our website links to other sites, such as Instagram, Yelp, Google, and Cherry. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new effective date.
